History and Vision
Epilogue Systems was founded in 2010. Founder Mike Graham had been involved with technology throughout his career and in his experience, implementing software was expensive, disruptive, time consuming and nearly always fell short of expected outcomes. Because digital transformations are extraordinarily complex, the reasons for these shortfalls vary and typically include a list of contributing factors, but consistent in all experiences is the challenge of getting the workforce to effectively embrace and use critical applications, initially and on-going.
Mike’s vision has been to make adopting and using critical business software as easy as possible – for the users of your critical business applications and for those responsible for owning, managing and facilitating effective user adoption. Additionally, the Epilogue Team knew that for this to be truly effective, you have to get past the first and toughest barrier, being able to actually generate the digital adoption content in the volume needed, deliver it in the manner needed and in shortest timeframe possible.
Our Digital Adoption Platform – Opus, the right fit for Enterprise adoption
By 2017, it was clear that Epilogue’s prior on-premise/desktop technology for creating instruction-oriented software documentation needed to migrate to the cloud. However, no similar technology, even SAP’s and Oracle’s, had accomplished this. By 2019, Epilogue launched Opus, the first truly Cloud/SaaS Digital Adoption Platform based on rapid process capture. Opus was built for the critical and complex applications used by medium, large and enterprise-sized entities. The primary tenets embodied in Opus are Easy and Fast – in all aspects of the digital adoption experience. In minutes, Opus captures a full application task or process as quickly as it can be performed, whether a 20 step task or 100 steps. From these “recordings”, Opus automatically and simultaneously generates a wide variety of outputs used for multiple purposes as described on our Opus Output Types page.
In 2022, Opus was re-architected to incorporate a novel recording technology that increased our application agnostic ability but, more importantly, enabled the automatic generation of the widely demanded user experience, the Walk Through, which we call Follow Me. This technology dramatically reduces the effort to create and maintain a Walk Through and makes it a by-product of our recording process which also automatically generates all other output types used during an implementation or upgrade project (UAT scripts, training assets, compliance documentation) AND the contextual help and guidance needed by users as they work in their applications (walk throughs, job aids, simulations, online books, etc.).
